The purpose of this IHS grant is to expand access to culturally appropriate, trauma-informed forensic healthcare (FHC) services for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, child maltreatment, and human trafficking. Description

The purpose of this IHS grant is to expand access to culturally appropriate, trauma-informed forensic healthcare (FHC) services for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, child maltreatment, and human trafficking. The grant supports the development and expansion of FHC services across IHS Areas while promoting coordinated treatment, intervention, prevention, and victim well-being through multidisciplinary, community-based partnerships such as Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) and Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs). These collaborative approaches strengthen victim response, improve coordination among service providers, and enhance access to timely, comprehensive care.

Eligibility

Federally recognized Tribe as defined by 25 U.S.C. 1603 (14); Tribal organization as defined by 25 U.S.C. 1603 (26); Urban Indian organization as defined by 25 U.S.C. 1603 (29).
