The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for planning grants to support preparatory, feasibility, and pilot activities that advance intervention development or solutions-oriented etiologic studies aimed at improving health and reducing health disparities outcomes among Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) populations. Projects must be co-developed with community partners. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

Projects must be co-developed with community partners. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Formative studies to identify novel or understudied contributors to poor health outcomes and/or chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes
Planning, adapting, and pilot-testing interventions for prevention, early detection, or control of maternal morbidity, infant health problems, or high-prevalence diseases
Feasibility and acceptability testing of strategies to reduce behavioral risk factors (e.g., physical inactivity, poor nutrition, or smoking) and promote sustained behavior change and measurable health outcomes
