The purpose of the Industry Day is to provide an overview of the Next Generation Short Range Interceptor (NGSRI) - Alternate Interceptor Demonstration (AID) to identify prospective acquisition opportunities. Attendance and participation in this Industry Day are voluntary; participation in any subsequent procurement or transaction is not contingent upon attendance. The current NGSRI program was initiated to meet the Department of the Army requirement for Maneuver Short Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) surface to air missile systems to replace the legacy FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air defense system. The NGSRI is a high performance, soldier portable, fire and forget, surface to air missile system capable of defeating rotary wing, fixed wing, and Group 2/3 Unmanned Aircraft System threats. The NGSRI missile is backwards compatible with the legacy Stinger missile platforms such as SGT STOUT and Marine Corps Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS). The Army is seeking to identify additional potential sources to fulfill the NGSRI requirements. The Army plans to conduct a demonstration in the Spring 2027 timeframe. A successful demonstration by an offeror may lead to an award for missile procurement. Industry Day: The U.S. Government plans to hold an Industry Day with all interested vendors providing an overview and preview of future NGSRI opportunities. Participation in any future transaction or procurement is not contingent upon attending this Industry Day. The target audience for the Industry Day are vendors with production-ready systems that meet NGSRI requirements who can participate in a demonstration in the Spring 2027 timeframe. When: 15 September 2026, 0900-1330 hours Central Time The agenda for the Industry Day is as follows: Registration, Check-In and Badging Welcome and NGSRI Overview Keynote Speaker Joint Panel Discussion and Q&A Closing Remarks and Next Steps One-on-One breakouts (Pre-registration required) Where: Intuitive Research, Huntsville, AL Registration Info: See Registration Info PDF for details and instructions to register.
