The Cannister Assembly is made from four components: Payload Canister (4140 steel), Payload Cover (7075 T6 aluminum) Clocking Keys 1 Clocking Keys 2 (AISI S2 tool steel or S7 as alternate). The purpose of this market survey is to obtain potential sources in addition to current producers to deliver Cannister Assemblies at a rate of no less than 450 cannisters per year by October 2027, no less than 1,000 cannisters per year by March 2028, and no less than 10,000 canisters per year by January 2031. 1. Payload Canister -The cannister (SK02662) is approximately 17 inches in length and 5 inches in diameter, requires a smooth surface finish free of any burrs, and a protective coating against environmental corrosion. The cannister shall be subject to dimensional quality controls to ensure proper form, fit, and function. The cannister must be produced from a 4140 steel, with a final hardness of 47 HRC. 2. Payload Cover -The cover (SK02663) is approximately 5 inches in length and are designed to cover a quarter of the curvature of the 5 inch diameter cannister. Each cover requires a smooth surface finish free of any burrs, and a protective coating against environmental corrosion. The cannister shall be subject to dimensional quality controls to ensure proper form, fit, and function. The cannister must be produced from a 7075 T6 aluminum. There are no limitations on the manufacturing method to achieve the 7075 T6 properties. 3. Clocking Keys 1- The key 1 (SK02665) is approximately 1 inch in length, 0.5 inches wide, and 0.2 inches in depth. It requires a smooth surface finish free of any burrs, and a protective coating by electrodeposited zinc with supplemental chromate treatment, ASTM B644, classification no. Fe/Zn 12. service condition SC3 (severe), Type I I, color olive drab. The key 1 shall be subject to dimensional quality controls to ensure proper form, fit, and function. Dimensional requirements and tolerances shall apply after plating. The key 1 must be produced from a AISI S2 tool steel or S7 as alternate, with a final hardness of 53 HRC. 4. Clocking Keys 2- The key 2 (SK02666) is approximately 0.5 inch in length, 0.5 inches wide, and 0.2 inches in depth. It requires a smooth surface finish free of any burrs, and a protective coating by electrodeposited zinc with supplemental chromate treatment, ASTM B644, classification no.
