INTRODUCTION This requirement is for the removal and disposal of 18 end-of-life ceiling lift systems and the furnishing, installation, testing, and commissioning of 21 new patient ceiling lift systems throughout the White River Junction VA Healthcare System campus. 2. BACKGROUND White River Junction VAMC has 18 end-of-life Handimove lift systems located in the Granite, Birches, and Mountains buildings and requires patient lifts in three additional ICU rooms. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing systems and add three ceiling lift systems in the ICU. 3. SCOPE OF WORK Furnish and install 21 complete patient ceiling lift and rail systems. Remove and dispose of 18 existing ceiling lift systems and associated equipment designated for removal. 4. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE To be determined by the Contracting Officer. Installation shall be coordinated with room availability and clinical operations. 5. HOURS OF OPERATION Work shall normally be performed between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays, unless otherwise coordinated and approved by the VA. 6. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS All installations shall comply with applicable requirements of VHA Patient Safety Alert AL14-07, including completion of the VHA Installation or Relocation Checklist for Ceiling Mounted Patient Lifts for each installed system, in addition to manufacturer-required checklists. Coordinate with VA Engineering to maintain access to mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, electrical, and other building systems within the installation area. Coordinate installation schedules with the Local POC and affected clinical services. Provide qualified personnel, materials, equipment, tools, and services necessary for a safe and fully operational installation.
